Fintech innovator Alpaca is doubling down on its mission to bridge traditional finance with the blockchain ecosystem. The firm recently closed a massive $135 million capital injection, earmarked specifically for expanding its infrastructure supporting tokenized stock trading.
The company has established itself as a dominant force in the sector, previously handling nearly 94% of the custody and clearing operations for tokenized U.S. equities. Currently, Alpaca manages more than $1.5 billion in underlying stock assets for its growing list of global partners.
This fresh liquidity arrives as demand for 24/7, programmable equity markets continues to rise. With these funds, Alpaca intends to enhance its technical architecture, ensuring that institutional participants can offer seamless, blockchain-based versions of traditional securities to their users.
The move signals a significant maturation in the crypto-asset landscape, as brokerage firms increasingly lean into high-utility, asset-backed tokens. By refining its custodial stack, Alpaca remains at the forefront of the inevitable transition toward real-world asset (RWA) tokenization.
