Bitmine, the firm led by Tom Lee, has shifted its capital allocation strategy this week. While the company continues to march toward its ambitious goal of securing 5% of the total Ethereum supply, recent activity reveals a temporary cooling in its buying spree.

Instead of deploying significant liquidity into digital assets, the firm directed $86 million toward a corporate stock buyback. Consequently, the company added only 7,430 ETH to its treasury—a purchase valued at approximately $14 million—marking a notable decline in its weekly acquisition volume.

Market analysts are interpreting this move as a pivot toward balancing treasury diversification with shareholder value. By supporting its own stock price, Bitmine is signaling confidence in its internal equity even as it maintains its long-term exposure to the Ethereum ecosystem.

Despite the slowdown, the firm remains one of the largest institutional holders of ether globally. Investors will be watching closely to see if this represents a permanent change in policy or a strategic pause in the path to cornering 5% of the total circulating supply.
