Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) has kicked off the fiscal year with a strong performance, reporting a 7% year-on-year increase in standalone net profit to Rs 3,685 crore. The company’s top-line growth was particularly impressive, with revenue surging by 23% during the June quarter.

The automotive division served as the primary engine for this growth. The brand solidified its leadership in the domestic SUV market, recording a 23% spike in vehicle volumes. This momentum reflects a sustained consumer appetite for the company's refreshed portfolio of utility vehicles.

Beyond its automotive success, M&M maintained its stronghold in the agricultural sector. The company achieved an 18% growth in tractor volumes, effectively preserving its status as the top player in the segment despite broader industry challenges.

Consolidated results painted an even brighter picture, with the company's profit after tax jumping by 34%. Supported by significant gains in its services arm, M&M appears well-positioned to maintain this trajectory throughout the remainder of the fiscal year.
