The mining conglomerate Vedanta has successfully executed its strategic demerger, with Vedanta Iron & Steel now operating as an independent entity on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE). Shares made their market debut on Monday, reflecting the company’s new standalone corporate identity.

Trading opened at Rs 22 on the BSE, while the NSE saw shares enter the market at Rs 20. This listing marks a significant milestone in Vedanta’s broader plan to streamline operations and unlock shareholder value across its diverse portfolio.

The newly listed firm maintains a strong operational footprint spanning India and Africa. With a specialized focus on the production of iron ore and steel, the company entered the market with a valuation of approximately Rs 7,821 crore.

This corporate restructuring is designed to allow Vedanta Iron & Steel to pursue independent growth strategies and capital allocation, catering specifically to the global demand for essential industrial commodities.
