Investor interest in IFCI has reached a fever pitch, with shares climbing over 16% in just two trading days. The bullish sentiment is largely fueled by renewed chatter surrounding the National Stock Exchange's (NSE) initial public offering, a long-stalled market debut that appears to be regaining momentum.

IFCI holds a strategic position in this narrative, maintaining an indirect stake of over 4% in the NSE via the Stock Holding Corporation of India. As the exchange moves closer to a potential listing, market participants are banking on significant value unlocking for shareholders of parent entities.

Regulatory hurdles that previously crippled the IPO process are beginning to clear. Following a series of resolved legal and compliance issues, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) appears more receptive to the exchange's proposal, which targets a massive valuation of roughly Rs 5.26 lakh crore.

While the company has not issued a formal launch date, the combination of a resolution in regulatory friction and the sheer scale of the NSE's market dominance has kept IFCI firmly in the spotlight as a proxy for this upcoming liquidity event.
